Ammonite and Orthoceras Tabletop
Ordovician
Sahara Desert, Morocco
Orthoceras specimens (ancient squid) and ammonite specimens (prehistoric nautiloids) are displayed
in natural matrix as a decorative tabletop, with a beveled edge, in colors ranging from chocolate
brown to off-white.
Measures: 30" x 34".
SRP: $1,500
Rectangular Tabletop with Ancient Squid
Orthoceras sp.
Devonian
Morocco
4 unusually large and very well defined orthoceras specimens adorn a rectangular tabletop, with
numerous ammonites and smaller orthoceras specimens. The stone’s colors include rust, brown, tan
and off-white; with a beveled edge.
Measures: 31" x 49 ˝".
SRP: $1,850
Fossil Fish Tabletop
Knightia eocena
Eocene
Green River Formation, Wyoming
A beautifully crafted, square limestone tabletop is designed with decorative edging displaying multi-toned
layers of the sedimentary stone. Honed throughout, the central fish specimen exhibits distinctive aragonite
crystal replacement in the vertebral column. A second, partially visible fish specimen, is seen in one corner.
Measures: 30" x 29 ˝".
SRP: $3,200
Massive Green/Black Table Top
Stromatolite
3.5 billion years old
Precambrian
Minnesota
The microscopic fossils within this massive, irregularly shaped stone slab tell a story almost as old as
the Earth itself. Stromatolites are mounded stone structures built up over millions of years by successive
layers of cyanobacteria, primitive bacteria that trapped sedimentary material, creating alternating layers
of fossils and sedimentary stone as early as 3.5 billion years ago. Cyanobacteria, which were extraordinarily
plentiful during the Archaean and Proterozoic Eras, are credited with having generated enough oxygen in the
Earth’s atmosphere to transform early Earth’s poisonous gases into a composition that made life as we know it
possible. The slab is suitable for use as a tabletop.
Measures: 79" x 36" x 2 3/16" in thickness.
SRP: $5,500
Round Ammonite Tabletop
Ordovician
Morocco
Brown matrix surrounds the varying ammonites and Orthoceras (ancient squid) inclusions of a fine tabletop.
Diameter Measures: 37" x ¾" in thickness.
SRP: $950
Circular Tabletop with Ammonites
Devonian
Morocco
Several large ammonite specimens form a pleasing natural composition in a circular tabletop distinguished by an
unusual and attractive taupe/gray color within the warm brown stone.
Diameter Measures: 37".
